Claro Walnut Cabinet

A parquetry cabinet with stand. The whole 3mm veneer came from the same piece of Claro walnut. The pattern, flow and graphics in this pieces are exceptional. The inside is covered with Spanish cedar and holds a miniature Tansu*-like drawer. The Tansu is asymmetrical, made out with Honduran mahogany, Port Orford cedar and Yew wood, and has tilted dovetailsjoints. Supporting the cabinet is the Wenge wood stand, with darker tones .

This parquetry cabinet in Claro walnut was made using shop sawn veneers laid up using geometric patterns following the flow of the wood grains, patterns and color. The flow of the grain of the doors gracefully wraps to the sides of the cabinet.
